Alberta egg farmers are responsible stewards of the land they farm, who are committed to sustainable development and minimizing their environmental impacts.  Egg farmers are embracing innovative barn construction features, energy-efficient technologies, and farming practices to reduce their carbon footprint.

EFA developed a Sustainability Strategy in 2014, which laid the foundation for building a sustainable provincial egg industry, by establishing 4 pillars that encompass all the EFA does.  Alberta egg farmers support EFA’s pioneering work in the area of sustainable egg production.  EFA redeveloped our Sustainability Strategy in 2021, which included the publication of 8 pledges that were designed to help guide the provincial egg industry for the next 5 years.
