Why did you first get into egg farming?
The colony voted me to manage the layer and pullet barns.
What does being an egg farmer mean to you?
It means the world to me to be able to produce fresh nutritious eggs for Albertans.
What do you enjoy most about beeing an egg farmer?
I love working with the birds. It is amazing to watch them grow up from day-old chicks to laying hens.
What types off eggs do your hens produce?
Our hens produce white omega3 eggs.
Do you raise any other livestock and or crops on your farm, in addition to your laying hens? If so, then what?
In addition to laying hens we also have pigs, dairy, and we also grow wheat, barley, peas, canola, lentils, and beans.
How does it make you feel to know that you provide Albertans with fresh, nutritious and delicious, locally produced eggs?
It is very rewarding to be able to produce eggs for Albertans, and also rewarding to see that all the hard work I put in pays off.
If there is one thing you would like people to know about egg farming and/or egg farmers, what would it be?
I would like to let them know that Egg Farmers take care of there hens, no matter what system they are in, be it Conventional, Free Run, Free Range, or Enriched.
