Naughty + Nice Pecans

Unexpected company popping in?  I think we’ve all been there. You scramble to find the cheese ball and crackers or oven baked dip. Both great options but what if you mixed things up and went “old school”. Think Mad Men era? Pour some drinks and serve these spicy + sweet pecans! We warn you, they’re addictive so definitely make LOTS! The secret to the crunch? Egg whites! Wrap them up as a “take with” gift when the night is over!

These sweet and slightly spicy delights will be your NIBBLES go-to from now on! Easy to make, with egg whites being the secret ingredient that gives these pecans the extra crunch!

Ingredients

  • 3c pecan halves
  • 1egg white
  • 2tsp water
  • 1tsp vanilla
  • 1/3c brown sugar
  • 3/4c white sugar
  • 2tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4tsp cayenne
  • 1/2tsp kosher salt

Instructions

  1. In one bowl, mix together all the wet ingredients until soft peaks form.
  2. Add the pecan halves, stir to coat.
  3. In second bowl, combine all the dry ingredients.
  4. Add the dry to the pecan mix, stir to combine.
  5. Spread as an even layer on a parchment lined sheet pan and bake 40-45 mins at 300 degrees.
  6. Let cool. Store in an air tight container for as long as they’ll last! Enjoy! Meg xo

Mini Maple Flan

Nothing says the holidays but creamy maple goodness! Flan is one of the easiest desserts to make, despite it feeling quite “puttery”. Just a few ingredient and you’re all set!

Berry Brunch Bake

Christmas morning is SOLVED! This cream cheese berry filled brunch bake checks ALL the holiday boxes! You make it the night before so the custard has a chance to get soaked into the buttery brioche. Then when everyone is up and ripping into presents, you can pop this baby into the oven, sit back and relax!  PS: Makes a lot, excellent leftovers, even served at room temp!

Move over foodies, this is the true holiday showstopper! A salt cured egg isn’t a new idea. But have you ever considered making and keeping on hand to wow the guests?
