Bow-Wow Breakfast Bars (Pet Treats)

Ingredients

  • 1500 mL (6 cups) oatmeal
  • 500 mL (2 cups) whole wheat flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 75 mL (1/3 cup) canola oil
  • 75 mL (1/3 cup) honey
  • 50 mL (1/4 cup) molasses
  • 250 mL (1 cup) milk
  • 200 mL (7 oz) canned pumpkin (optional)
  • 2 to 3 bananas, mashed (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 160° C (325° F). Lightly oil a cookie sheet. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together. (This works best if you use your hands!!) Pat onto the oiled cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour. After baking, turn oven off and leave oven door slightly open to allow the breakfast bars to cool. Cut into whatever size your dog desires. Store in an airtight container or plastic bag in refrigerator or freezer.

Makes: 16 large bars.
