Festive Poppy Seed Cookies

Ingredients
2 cups (500 mL) unsalted butter2 cups (500 mL) granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 tbsp (25 mL) low fat sour cream
5 1/2 cups (1.375L) all purpose flour
1/2 tsp (2 mL) baking powder
1/2 cup (125 mL) poppy seeds
Directions
In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder and poppy seeds. In a medium metal bowl, mix together softened butter and sugar. Add eggs and sour cream, mixing until well blended. Gradually add flour mixture until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours. Preheat oven to 190° C (375° F). On a floured surface, roll dough to 1/4 inch (1/2 cm) thick. Using cookie cutters, cut out desired shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheets leaving at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) between cookies. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack.
