Christmas Bars

Ingredients
6 cups (1500 mL) all purpose flour2 cups (500 mL) brown sugar
4 tbsp (60 mL) cinnamon
2 tsp (10 mL) cloves
2 tsp (10 mL) nutmeg
3 cups (750 mL) unsalted butter
2 large eggs
2 tsp (10 mL) vanilla
3 tbsp (45 mL) granulated sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 180° C (350° F). In a medium bowl, whisk flour and spices together.
In a metal bowl, beat softened butter and brown sugar until well mixed. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually mix in flour mixture.
Divide dough in half and press each half into a greased 30 x 20 x 5 cm (13 x 9 x 2 inch) pan. Sprinkle granulated sugar over dough.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool in pans. Cut into narrow bars to serve.
