Yummy French Toast
Ooolala!This French toast makes a great breakfast, lunch or supper!
Ingredients for 4 servings (french toasts):
2 eggs 2125 mL milk ½ cup
1 mL salt ¼ teaspoon
15 mL butter or margarine 1 tablespoon
4 slices bread 4 slices
Equipment kit:
- mixing bowl
- fork
- plate
- measuring spoons
- measuring cups
- frying pan
- spatula
Directions:
With adult supervision...1. Break eggs into a mixing bowl. Beat thoroughly with fork. Beat in milk and salt. Beat well.
2. On medium heat melt butter or margarine in a frying pan.
3. Dip one slice of bread at a time into mixture, letting it soak for a few seconds on each side.
4. Place dipped bread slices in pan. Cook until golden in colour (about 3 to 4 minutes). Turn over, using the spatula, and cook the other side until it is golden too.
Optional:
Serve with powdered (icing) sugar, cinnamon, jam, maple syrup, or fruit syrup or fruit slices.Nutrients per serving (1 french toast)
